Another year commences with fresh looks
The air reeks of another forty weeks
Mounds of paper and freeweights for books
Anxiety walks beside me, pinching at my cheeks
Lost and bewildered in a scholastic maze
Boredom is my friend, and frustration dwells in my face
My view of this place is littered with haze
I have come so far and ready to quit the Amazing Race
But I have persevered to this point, not to quit quickly
So I journey through the maze, a depressing exhibition
Enraged because I carry the hopes of millions with me
Brutally tortured by my repressed intuition
The sunny days of education are now clouded by haze
Down the road, I long to reach, the end of these school daze
